In Kutaisi – the medieval capital of Georgia there is located Bagrati Cathedral, which  is one of the most important Georgian architectural monuments. Kutaisi is home of the Gelati Monastery Complex as well included in UNESCO World Heritage Monuments List, which was founded by King David Aghmashenebeli in 1106. The Gelati Monastery and the Academy have long been one of the main cultural and educational centers in Georgia. In Imereti you can also visit many other attractions such as Motsameta Monastery, Sataplia Nature Reserve, where up to 200 footprints of the dinosaurs are preserved and most exciting Prometheus Cave.
